Museum of the Cape Fear:

801 Arsenal Ave. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free. Information: 486-1330.


Fayetteville Area Transportation Museum:

325 Franklin St. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. No Admission charge. Information: 433-1457.


Military

Battlefield Military Museum and Warpath Military Collectibles:

819 Hope Mills Road. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Uniforms, insignia, medals and historic artifacts from the Iraq war are on display. Information: 425-7000.


Airborne & Special Operations Museum:

100 Bragg Blvd. The museum, which is part of the U.S. Army Museum System, explores the 60-year history of airborne and special operations units through life-size exhibits and interactive displays. Hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Closed most Mondays, but open federal holiday Mondays. Information: 483-3003 or www.asomf.org.


82nd Airborne Division War Memorial Museum:

Gela and Ardennes streets, Fort Bragg. Exhibits include artifacts from World War II to the present, uniforms, weapons, vehicles and airplanes, and a photograph exhibit on Operation Desert Storm. Hours: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Closed Mondays, except federal holidays, when the hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Information: 432-5307.


JFK Special Warfare Museum:

Ardennes and Marion streets, Fort Bragg. Museum traces the history of special operations from the French and Indian War to the present. Exhibits are in the main museum and the Hall of Heroes, across the street in Kennedy Hall. Hours: 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Closed on federal holidays except Memorial Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day and Labor Day. Admission is free. Information: 432- 1533.


Children

Fascinate-U Children's Museum:

116 Green St.
The museum offers hands-on play for children. Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday; noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $3 per child and $1 per adult Wednesday from 1 to 7 p.m. Information: 829-9171 or 433-1573.
