Despite security at Fort Bragg, civilians can go on post to watch parachute jumps at Sicily Drop Zone.

But since Fort Bragg is a closed post, motorists without a Department of Defense car decal will have their cars searched.

If you go, make sure to take plenty of sunscreen and something to eat. There are bleachers at Sicily Drop Zone.

You can watch from the edge, but don't venture from the edge. Sometimes troops drop Humvees and other equipment as well as the paratroopers.
